Why “See It Before You Pay” Beats Paying a Deposit

The standard arrangement is that you pay a deposit, wait, see a draft, ask for changes, wait, and eventually get a website. The money moves first and the evidence arrives later.

We do it the other way around. We build the actual website, send you a live link, and you decide after you have seen it. If you do not want it, you pay nothing.

What the deposit is really for

Deposits exist to protect the builder, not you. They cover the risk that a client vanishes mid-project. That is a real risk and a reasonable concern — it is simply not your risk, and you are the one being asked to carry it.

The trade is: you take on all the uncertainty, before you have seen a single thing that is actually yours.

What changes when the order reverses

You are judging a website, not a promise

Portfolios show what someone did for a business that is not yours. A live link shows what they did for your business, with your services, your words, your photos. It is a different kind of evidence entirely.

The incentive lands in the right place

If we only get paid when you like it, then getting it right the first time is our problem. That single change removes most of the reason projects drift: nobody is being paid to take longer.

Nothing to negotiate your way out of

No deposit means no awkward conversation about refunds, no part-finished site held hostage, no sunk cost pushing you to accept something you do not love.

The obvious question: what stops people taking the site and not paying? Nothing much — but it happens far less than you would expect, and the trade is worth it. People who see something good, built specifically for them, generally want it.

How it works in practice

  1. You tell us what the business does. Five minutes, by message.
  2. We build the real site — copy, imagery, mobile layout, contact flow.
  3. You get a live link, usually within about 24 hours.
  4. You love it, we launch it and you pay once. You do not, you owe nothing and we part on good terms.

The catch, stated plainly

There is one: we cannot do this for everybody at once, so complicated projects sometimes get a conversation first. And "free until you love it" applies to the build, not to unlimited redesigns after launch — at some point a website is finished.

Beyond that, it is exactly as it sounds. Prices start at R2,500, once-off, and you own everything.

Frequently asked questions

Do you really build the website before I pay?

Yes. We build the real site with your services and content, send a live link, and you decide afterwards. If you do not want it, you owe nothing.

Why do most web designers ask for a deposit?

A deposit protects the builder against a client abandoning the project midway. It is a legitimate concern, but it moves the uncertainty onto the buyer, who has not yet seen anything.

What happens if I do not like the website you build?

Nothing. You pay nothing and we part on good terms. The time spent was ours to risk, which is what keeps the pressure on us to get it right first time.
